It is really uneasy to be parents in current modern societies. Parents are forced to balance the demand of their careers and the upbringing of their children. So some people say that it is the best way to keep a parent at home focus on breeding and educating children, I disagree in such issue at all.

Indeed it is to everyone's convenience to keep Mom or Dad at home, as long as the other one makes enough money to feed the whole family. While, as is often the case, with the continuing increase of living cost and tuition fees, a parent is usually hard to maintain all the family members by one's own endeavours, not to mention spare energy to educate the child.So the abovementioned suggestion is unrealistic to the majority of the people.

Moreover, a child is unable to learn basic knowledge just alone at home with his parent such as how to communicate with others and react to the world outside, etc. Children are best educated among their likes in kindergartens and schools, which play the role of qualified educators.

Besides, it is too much at the cost of quitting one's career and lose the touch with his or her community and then fall behind, especially unfair to those who are skilled in their occupations. And how long would a child stay at home at most?

To conclude, I insist that either of parents not stay at home as a full-time housewife or "househusband". He or she can efficiently cultivate children well while pursuing a career.An active and successful parent is the best model for his child to learn from。(273 words)
