Some people argue that it is more important to have one language to be adapted as the official international language. Others say that this will lead to the loss of culture and identity of their country. What is your opinion?

Nowadays more and more people learn to speak foriegn languages for communication worldwide. Consequently critics is raised that it is at the loss of native culture and identity of a country for her people to use a foreign language rather than their own , as a native language is part of a nation's tradition. So they advocate not to adopt a foreign language as an official international language.

I believe the opinion above is too feudal to be accepted by modern populace. In the age of high-technology and globalization, it is getting more crucial to be foreign-language-literate and be proficient in applying them merely to earn a living.

In addition, just communication in foreign languages cannot replace the native country's culture and customs of long history. Much often in their daily lives and on most of ordinary occasions, people are willing to speak their own languages. There is an evidence around the world that migrants maintain their own traditions and customs even in alien countries.

At present, I am leading a Chinese-style life while communicating with foreigners in their languages. Just think a Chinese wedding is held in English!

Most of people do not want to quit their national culture just because they have learned another language. On the contrary, anyone who maintains his culture and tradition tightly but refuses to communicate with aliens will have no way out in the modern opening world, not to mention where his native culture and identity is rooted.
